Samantha Crain is a Choctaw-American songwriter, musician, producer, and singer from Shawnee, Oklahoma, signed with Ramseur Records (USA) and Real Kind Records (R.O.W.).
Crain’s genre spanning discography has gained accolades from Paste, NPR, The Guardian, NME, Rolling Stone and has featured on HBO’s Hung and 90210. Crain has also won 2 NAMMY’s (Folk Album of the Year & Songwriter of the Year) and an Indigenous Music Award in 2019 for Rock Album of the Year.
Releasing her fifth album in 2020 on Real Kind, ‘A Small Death’ heralds a fresh new era for Samantha Crain and a hard-fought victory in her relentless battle against illness and injury that at one stage suggested she might never be able to hold and play her guitar again.
It makes for an emotionally-charged, richly-textured record, underpinned by Samantha’s poetic way with words and expressive means of delivering them. The album is entirely self-produced. You can listen to her latest release from this album here.
